We all still have to get used to it, we don't celebrate Queen's Day on April 30, but the orange noise goes off on April 27 for our King's birthday. This year it should be a great party for the whole family with art, theatre, music and a market. The King's Day Foundation 's-Hertogenbosch is in the midst of preparations, but this week it has already lifted the veil.

After the great success of the first King's Day 2014, the 's-Hertogenbosch King's Day Foundation is now preparing for the second edition. Last year, the organization had a lot of work to turn Queen's Day into King's Day. "It was a lot of work, especially behind the scenes," says Inge.

Afterwards there will be many performances on the Parade, in and around the Markt and on the Karrestraat. The organization is still working hard to complete the planning. Whimsical brass trumpet in the spotlight for the South Holland Philharmonic - HERTOGENBOSCH - It's not often that the trumpet shines as a solo instrument in a symphony orchestra. 's-HERTOGENBOSCH - MadeleineMatzer made an adaptation of Lisette Lewin's novel 'A Heart of Barbed Wire' in 2003, which at the time had a successful but small tour. Why are Taggel and Djekkie pet of the month? “In the summer of 2013, Taggel, a Dachshund and Jack Russell cross, came to our old dog Nasse (Labrador) when he was a pup. They were great friends of his. When Nasse was forced to sleep a year later due to physical problems, it soon became clear to us that Taggel needed to find a new boyfriend. This became Djekkie and the two were great friends from the start. They love to run, play and walk together. They are playful, affectionate and extremely fast. Both dogs have a very cheerful character, friendly with everyone and with each other, the unique thing is that both -despite the fact that both the dachshund and the Jack Russel can be extremely stubborn- listen very well and are eager to learn. They mean a lot to us and are a real part of the family. Briefly; They are two wonderful roommates that we hope to enjoy for a long time!”

'Onder de Boschboom' Long live society! I am a historical figure and I am proud of it. Like this. is out. You, the reader, must draw your own conclusions: perhaps you now appreciate me as a full member of society, or perhaps you are now intrigued by what I could offer to society. I hope, of course, that you belong to the latter group. The humanities are ripe for an update, and I want to make the case in this column.

Students at the University of Amsterdam have been heavily in the news in recent weeks. They fought for the preservation of small studios (many alpha) and for greater student and faculty participation in the university. In universities, policy is determined from above. From the administrator. They need good managers and I don't want to attack them. But currently managers are mainly asked to pay attention to the budget, and the content is discussed only after the return. And it is like that everywhere. Something is only useful or valuable if the value of the product in question can be expressed in euros.

The question is whether we should define ourselves as consumers and producers. Aren't we human first? And our culture and our past do not define us? Doesn't the value of our society rather reside in the things that define us as a society? I mean the cultural heritage of our city. 's-Hertogen-bosch has traditionally been a Catholic town and the way society is organized in the town still stems from the Catholic tradition. Also, 's-Hertogenbosch is a city in Brabant. This is heard in the spoken language, which is seen in the exuberance with which we enjoy life.

It is especially important in the age of globalization that we continue to remember who we are and what we share with each other in the city. These things consist of our past, our language, and our cultural heritage. In a society that is becoming more mechanized and digitized, and therefore more impersonal, it is precisely important to be in touch with what makes us human. It is not our economic value, it is our social value. It is what we offer to society and what we do for each other. And the link in society is again determined by cultural similarities. That's why we must respect them!

Hopefully we can keep enough money and enough people to study the culture of the city and give it a new impetus. In this way, each city dweller can continue to feel connected to where they live and to the people who share that place of residence with them. I invite everyone to re-evaluate culture, language and history. This is how we can keep the world sustainable.

National Stargazing Days REGIO - This year, the Halley Observatory participates with two open nights and an afternoon for young people in the National Stargazing Days organized by the Royal Netherlands Weather and Astronomical Society (KNVWS). Special Passion of Matthew for the whole family-HERTOGENBOSCH - On March 29, Kinder Matthews, a short play for the whole family, will be on view at St. John's Cathedral in 's-Hertogenbosch. During Children's Matthew, storyteller Arjan Smit, known as a lifelong Sesame Street resident, guides young and old in the world-famous Easter tradition. He tells the Easter story with pure Bach music and brings the story to life with three dancers. Kinder Matthew performs "Ludwig" conducted by Klaas Stok, "het Nieuw Amsterdams Kinderkoor" in collaboration with Brabant Koor, soprano Keren Motseri and alto Noa Frenkel. Research in Informal Care Homes Kevin Lock and Suzanne Glasbergen will soon graduate from Avans University of Applied Sciences. Commissioned by the municipality, Steunpunt Mantelzorg Divers, SPARK and LOOT are conducting a study on informal retirement homes.

Kevin and Suzanne are curious if there is a need for informal nursing homes in 's-Hertogenbosch. And what do you think is the ideal informal residence in different care situations. Kevin and Suzanne explain their research: “People continue to stay home longer, even if they need more care and support. And then it can be easy and enjoyable if you live close to your caregiver. For example, in the same house,

on an extension near an informal caretaker, in a temporary garden or in a private house near an informal caretaker'.

Interviews For the purposes of their studies, students would like to get in touch with people who already have experience with or are interested in informal residences. Kevin: “We are happy to come to the interview. Next, we would like to hear from you about what you think is important in informal life in care. What do you need at home or when you live in it?

Hekellan will be closed to traffic in the afternoon and evening from Monday 23 March to Tuesday 24 March and in the afternoon and evening from Tuesday 24 March to Wednesday 25 March. During this closure, a corten steel "corridor of time" will be installed. It is a rust-colored steel walkway located in the historic fortress wall on either side of Judasstoren. Then people will soon be able to walk on the fortress wall. The work will take place over two nights in order to minimize traffic disruption as much as possible.

1st night Start: Monday afternoon, March 23, 7:00 p.m. Deadline: tomorrow Tuesday, March 24, 6:00 am.

2nd night Start: Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. Deadline: Wednesday morning, March 25, 6:00 a.m.

Accessibility During the works, Hekelaan will be closed from the Pettelaarseweg intersection to the Nachtegaalslaantje intersection. The Hekellaan section between the Zuid-Willemsvaart junction and Nachtegaalslaantje is open to local traffic. Nachtegaalslaantje can be accessed via Papenhulst during lockdown.

What topics are dealt with in the town hall? I take care of administrative tasks such as event policy, security and public order and regional cooperation. I also focus on traffic and transportation and housing policy. As group chair, I am also the information source for the entire group and coordinate the main policy files.

What will you achieve in 's-Hertogenbosch? I want the residents of our municipality to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to them and enjoy their lives to the fullest. The government must create the conditions for this, that is, guarantee a strong economy, a safe municipality, low taxes, and a government that does not interfere with unnecessary rules. Specifically, I want young people to have more opportunities to organize events. And more innovation and room for start-ups to become more financially sound.

Who are you outside of your job at the town hall? In addition to my advisory work, I have my own company where I advise governments on their policies. I am also studying public administration at the Free University of Amsterdam. I am also the president of VVD Young Professional, a network within VVD. In my free time I like to read a good book, listen to music or have a drink and play with my friends.

You take a position after weighing all interests. The tips and advice of those involved are of great value. How do you involve the residents of 's-Hertogenbosch in the decisions you make? I like talking to people and organizations. That way, you'll get an idea of the real importance of people and can consider their input as much as possible. So I can also be in our municipality talking to many people and institutions.

New meaning-HERTOGENBOSCH - In the chapel of St. Anthony. It is an installation of 52 bodies of Jesus that are leaning forward at a 45 degree angle and together they form a cross. Then Jesus is shown suffering and dying in the form of a cross. In the project 'Crucifix Coporum Christi' I used a corpus

Residents of the Bossche neighborhood in Maaspoort can test their fitness and learn about all kinds of sports, with the aim of raising awareness about their fitness. Uniting efforts in health Working with people prone to psychosis

VUGHT - Ypsilon, Association of Relatives Vulnerable to Psychosis, to join forces in practice due to increasing pressure on informal care. On March 19, Ypsilonging started a conversation with GGZ area teams and data teams to see what they could mean to each other and how the best cooperation between these three parties can be created.

Since January 1, 2015, the teams of the social districts of Brabant have been working with the information teams of mental health centers to provide good care and guidance for people with mental disorders.
